Senior Controls System Engineer
Salary: £40,000 to £50,000 plus benefits & company share scheme
Location: Maldon, Essex
A skilled Control Systems engineer, with experience developing whole vehicle models to support control software development, testing and validation. This is a hands-on role for an engineer who enjoys designing and implementing control software & simulation models, as well as the creative problem solving, and testing required to ensure they function as intended.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement and test (utilizing MIL/SIL/in-vehicle validation) control software using a model-based development approach.
Design, implement and correlate BEV & HEV component and vehicle models for component sizing and performance analysis.
Support the transition of control systems software from Kleanbus to clients.
Write relevant specifications, requirements and test plans / reports.
Maintain good relationships with suppliers and customers.
Evaluate the impact of work delays, interruptions or changes in plans to develop an appropriate course of action.
Seeing projects through from conception to handover.
Take part in design reviews.

Qualifications and Experience Levels:
A minimum of a 2:1 in Automotive Engineering or similar
A minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience.
Experience in automotive control systems design, ideally working on BEV/HEV projects
Detailed control systems / plant models design, implementation, and validation experience
Experience in writing system and software specifications, requirements & test documents
Familiar with vehicle performance, economy, emissions and driveability attributes/trade-off’s
Proven track record in the effective delivery of technical objectives to quality and time targets
Enthusiastic to learn new disciplines and expand current technical and project knowledge
Experienced user of MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow for embedded control system design and validation, along with a familiarity with powertrain modelling.
Experience with CCP & CAN based tools, e.g. INCA/CANape, CANalyzer, and CANbus
Experience and knowledge of whole vehicle electrical systems (high and low voltage)
Understanding and application of industry and safety standards relating to control systems (ISO 26262)
Formula Student experience or equivalent is a plus

A skilled software test engineer with automotive powertrain software experience. This is a hands-on role for an exceptional engineer who enjoys working in a fast-paced start-up environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Create test cases for MIL/SIL/PIL and vehicle testing levels based on available test bases.
· Execute tests in simulated and real-world environments depending on test level.
· Feedback test results to developers and perform retesting and regression testing after bug fixes are released.
· Support the transition of control systems software from Kleanbus to clients.
· Work with systems engineers to build familiarity and impact requirements for testing.
· Create test plans for every test level.
· Take part in design reviews.
